We assign roommates based on information you provide on your application. You may also request a specific roommate on your online application. All roommate requests must be mutual.

Sant'Anna Residence Hall - on campus

Sant’Anna Institute Residence Hall has 39 bedrooms (singles, doubles, triples and quadruples), for a total number of 75-80 people that can be accommodated in the complex. This residence hall is located on Sant’Anna main building, just a couple floors from the classroom spaces.

  • Bedrooms contain: twin beds, desks, chairs, wardrobe, night table, lamp, mini fridge, wireless and cable internet connection. Sea-view rooms feature a window; some garden-view rooms feature a balcony;
  • Each room features ceiling lamp. Blankets, bedspreads, bed linen, mattress pads and pillows will be provided (one set per person), as well as trash receptacles;
  • Air conditioning is present in all bedrooms. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and hot water. Towels will be provided (a set of 3 towels per person);
  • Large open floor plan kitchen (shared) and outdoor terrace;
  • There are laundry facilities in the building. The washing machine and dryer are coin-operated
Villa SAMA

Sant’Anna Institute has just launched a new accommodation option, a new residence Hall , Villa SAMA, located in the Santa Lucia Neighborhood, just 15-20 minutes walking form our main campus.

This new Residence Hall has  the following feautures:

  • 42 total spots for students in single, double or triple bedrooms with bathroom
  • Bedrooms contain: twin beds, desks, chairs, wardrobe, night table, lamp, mini fridge, wifi, a/c, balcony/window with sea view or garden view;
  • Blankets, bedspreads, bed linen, mattress pads and pillows will be provided (one set per person). Each room has an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and hot water. Towels will be provided (a set of 3 towels per person);
  • Large cafeteria area with restaurant. Meal plan (with breakfast and dinner) will be added to student program fee*. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options;
  • Self kitchen area with microwaves, coffee machines and toasters (no stove);
  • Large garden and outdoor terrace; Rooftop with swimming pool & sunbeds;
  • Vending machines with drinks, snacks and machines for sandwiches and salads; water fountain.
  • Coin-operated washing machines and driers.

Meal plan is available for Breakfast and Dinner only. Each day voucher costs $26,50 and includes 1 breakfast + 1 dinner.

*Compulsory meal plan:

– jterm / maymester 2025, 3 weeks: 10 day vouchers required, 10×26,50$ = 265,00$ for 10 breakfasts and 10 dinners

– spring / fall 2025, 15 weeks: 53 day vouchers required, 53×26,50$ = 1.404,50$ for 53 breakfasts and 53 dinners (fall 2024 will be 16 weeks: 56 day vouchers required, 56×26,50$ = 1.484$ for 56 breakfasts and 56 dinners)

– summer, 1 session ( 5 weeks) 2025:  17 day vouchers required, 17×26,50$ = 450,50$ for 17 breakfasts and 17 dinners

– summer,  2 sessions (10 weeks) 2025: 34 day vouchers required, 34×26,50$ = 901,00$ for 34 breakfasts and 34 dinners

Shared Apartments

Sant’Anna Institute’s shared apartments are located throughout Sorrento and are able to accommodate up to six students comfortably. Every apartment has its own unique layout but each apartment comes equipped with:

  • Bed and linens;
  • Closet/dresser;
  • Desk;
  • Stove and basic cooking and eating necessities;
  • Kitchen table and chairs;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • TV;
  • A/C;
  • Washing Machine.

 

For students looking for a more independent housing option, the shared apartments are available. The students will be responsible for purchasing their own groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies etc.

All apartments are situated in antique buildings, especially in the historic centers, meaning the students will be able to experience life in an authentic Italian apartment. The apartment complex also has families living in the building as well, so Sant’Anna must also advise the incoming students to be mindful of their new neighbors.

Host Families Accommodation

Sant’Anna Institute’s host families are located throughout Sorrento and are able to accommodate up to three students in each home. Living with a host family is the best way to immerse yourself in the Italian language and culture, as well as learn the secrets of Italian cuisine. Host families will provide breakfast daily and students can choose the option to have dinner with the host family, too. Students will receive:

  • Breakfast;
  • Bed in a private or shared room with Sant’Anna students;
  • WiFi connection;
  • Access to laundry.

 

Being able to stay with a host family will not only be an amazing way to learn the Italian language quickly but the student will also be able to make a lifelong connection with the family. Homestay accommodations are on a first-come first-serve basis, so it’s highly recommended to apply early!

For students who truly want the authentic Italian experience, staying with a local family will be an excellent opportunity to experience the different culture through the wonderful food, daily interactions with the family, and ability to create a lifelong bond right here in Sorrento.

FAQs

Sant’Anna offers three accommodation options: Resinde Hall, Shared Apartments and Italian Host family. The Residence Hall is located right above the school, on the 3rd and 4th floor of the same building. Shared Apartments and Host families are located throughout Sorrento a few minutes walk from the school. They all are equipped with desk, bed and linens, closet, Wi-Fi, Air conditioning, kitchen and laundry.

Yes. All roommate requests must be mutual, you will have to indicate the prospective roommate’s full name and student ID number. Furthermore, follow the priority deadlines:

  • Summer Terms – April 1st
  • Fall Semester – July 1st
  • Spring Semeste – December 1st

Requests made after the deadline cannot be guaranteed.

Single rooms are, for all of our accomodation, limited in number and are available on a first come first-served basis. Students are advised to submit a housing application as early as possible for particular housing requests.

Sant’Anna provides a luggage storage space in the Residence Hall lobby for free. However throughout Sorrento you can find different luggage storage services:
