    Sant’Anna Institute organizes study abroad programs in partnership with American universities.
    We offer:

    • semester and short-term study abroad programs
    • faculty-led and customized group programs
    • internships for academic credit
    • service learning and community engagement projects
    • high school and gap year programs

    We are an international community of constant cultural exchange between faculty, staff, and students. It is located in Sorrento in southern Italy. Our school is an impressive historic structure perched on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, overlooking the fishing village of Marina Grande and is a short walk from the city center.

    At Sant’Anna Institute, undergraduate students will live the best international experience. Students get to live in a foreign country while improving their linguistic and cross-cultural communication skills acquiring a perspective that encourages greater opportunities in the world community and enhances the student’s outlook in multiple ways.

    All of our courses are offered through Jacksonville University (Florida) that serves as our official school of records. Non-JU students will receive a transcript to transfer course credits to their home institution.

    Our Location

    While study abroad programs in Italy have traditionally focused on northern cities like Rome, Florence, and Milan, Sant’Anna Institute offers students a unique opportunity to experience the rich culture and climate of southern Italy. Located in the picturesque town of Sorrento—at the gateway to the Amalfi Coast and just 20 miles south of Naples—the Institute sits atop cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Naples, with breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius, the sea, and the surrounding landscape.

    Sorrento’s safe, walkable streets, Mediterranean charm, vibrant local life, and exceptional cuisine make it an ideal setting for cultural immersion. It also serves as a hub to explore nearby historical and natural treasures such as Capri, Naples, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast.

    Sant’Anna’s modern facilities, including its Residence Hall overlooking Marina Grande, are just a short walk from the town center and local transportation, offering students both comfort and connection during their study abroad experience.
