Traveling Europe

From Sorrento, it is easy and fairly inexpensive to travel in Italy and across Europe, particularly if you plan and book in advance.

The fastest way is by plane, but you can also opt for the often cheaper and as simple solution, and take the train.


Traveling by train

From Sorrento Circumvesuviana train Station, reach Napoli Centrale - Piazza Garibaldi station (approx. 1h10 ride).

From Naples station, you can take:

 

1) a Trenitalia train

Visit Trenitalia website (www.trenitalia.com) to discover all the destinations in Italy and Europe! You can purchase tickets online or at the train station. 

Trenitalia offers four types of trains(slowest to fastest):

  • Regionale
  • Intercity
  • Eurostar
  • Freccia Rossa / Freccia Argento
 
2) a Italo train
Visit Italotreno website (http://www.italotreno.it/) to discover all the destinations (Italy only). Italotreno is a new-born company that offers cheaper tickets to Rome, Venice, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence and all major Italian cities.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SORRENTO TRAIN STATION IS EQUIPPED WITH A LUGGAGE STORAGE.

Traveling by plane

The nearest airport to Sorrento is Capodichino in Naples, the main airport in Campania.

From Capodichino, you can fly to all major destinations in Italy, Europe and all over the world!

Easyjet (http://www.easyjet.com/en) and Ryanair (http://www.ryanair.com/en) are two low cost companies that fly to major destinations in Europe. 

They are very popular among young people, because tickets may be as low as 50€ or less if you book early.

 

Easyjet flies from Naples Capodichino, while Ryanair from Rome Ciampino

 

As prices are very low, you will need to pay attention to hidden costs for extra luggage, overweight luggage, itinerary changes, etc.

Hours → from 7.30am to 11.30pm (7 days a week)
De Curtis Parking, is not far from the train station (Circumvesuviana) and next to the Bus Station Terminal (bus from/for Rome, Amalfi, Positano, ect.). Is the best deal for anyone who comes by bus or for who needs baggage deposit until late evening.

Travel Etc is near to the Taxi Terminal and is located behind the Torquato Tasso monument, in the central Piazza Tasso. This taxi company is the best deal for anyone who wants to visit the center of Sorrento and get as close as possible to Sant'Anna Institute. (ten-minute walk).
